Best Places To Shop In Jakarta

On my latest trip to Jakarta in July 2022, I was surprised to see the huge clean malls with such a wide variety of merchandise. There are roughly 170 malls in Jakarta. They cater to every taste from luxury to affordable local markets. I enjoyed my shopping experience while in Jakarta. Recommending few of the best options. Hope you have a gala time shopping 🙂 Here are my best places to shop in Jakarta

Central Park + Neo Soho

Central Park Mall is my favorite one in Jakarta. An absolute shopping paradise it is close to Mall Taman Angrekk. It is a delight for all shoppers with famous brands like Levis, Max, Sogo Department Store, H&M, Stradivarius, Zara,Tommy Hilfiger etc. Famous makeup and skincare brands like Sephora, MAC, and Nature Republic are also there . You can easily spend an entire day here with a lot of F&B options. One can find everything from footwear, clothes, accessories, lingerie, bags, loungewear, electronics, beauty products, etc. There is also a Tribeca Park around the Central Park mall with a nice atmosphere to spend some quality time. There are a number of restaurants surrounding this park.

This mall is connected with a sky bridge to the retail and leisure place called Neo Soho. Neo Soho comprises of ACE Hardware Store and Informa Department Store. Its a beautiful area to spend some peaceful time on the sky bridge. Not to forget, this complex also has the Jakarta Aquarium and Safari. Here you can enjoy animal encounters, feed the Meerkats and enjoy a aqua-trekking adventure. Not to miss the Penguin show which is held twice daily.

Grand Indonesia

Grand Indonesia is one of the largest and most popular malls of Jakarta. Its is divided in the East and West Mall. These parts are connected externally by a walking pedestrian area and internally by a sky walk. It is located in the heart of Menteng area and surrounded by many luxury hotels. It boasts of various high street brands like Bershka, Cotton On, Mango, Uniqlo, Pull and Bear, H&M, Victoria’s Secret, Giordano, Zara, etc. There are 3 famous department stores under one roof namely Seibu, Central and Allun Allun. Allun Allun is famous for local handicrafts, souvenirs and wooden articles. It is connected to the office tower of Menara BCA, Kempsinki Private Residences and Hotel. There are two grocery markets Ranch Market and Food Hall. Roughly around 100 F&B outlets spread across the mall make it a paradise for people who love to eat.

Gandaria City

Gandaria City is a mall that offers wide variety of choices for all categories. It has famous brands like LC Waikiki, Daiso, Mango, Typo, Puma, King Rabbit and The Face Shop. This mall is connected to Sheraton Grand Hotel as well. Metro Department store and Lotte Mart are among the 2 famous and big stores here. Highly recommend this mall.

Taman Mall Angrekk

A nice mall which is at a 5 minutes walking distance from the famous Central Park Mall. The most popular among all shops here is the Matahari Department Store which is spread across 3 floors. This mall also has high street brands like Uniqlo, Sephora, Polo and a huge Decathlon shop providing a variety of merchandise. There is also the very famous Swedish brand IKEA at this Mall and a Toys Kingdom store. There are a good option of restaurants and a food court serving delicious food.

Indok Pondoh Mall

A large shopping complex divided into 3 parts, with the Pondok Indah Mall 3, Street Gallery being the latest. They are interconnected by pedestrian walkways which have some specialty shops. Endless food courts, restaurants, shops, gaming arcades, cinema, entertainment, supermarkets and departments stores under one roof. This shopping hub will never fail to impress you. Name the brand and you will find it here. Starting from Zara, H&M, Uniqlo , Mango, Cotton On, Polo, Foot Locker, Etude House etc. its hosts the famous department stores of Seibu, Sogo, Metro and Ace hardware.

Thamrin City Mall

A old yet popular local shopping market with around 500 shops. Thamrin City has small stalls spread across two floors. It mainly has budget friendly shops selling accessories, clothes, lingerie and purses. I highly recommend to have a stroll at this market and don’t forget to buy some nice night pyjamas here. Also, have a nice experience with the kind and helpful local people. You can haggle a bit but prices seem reasonable and quality also is good.

Pacific Plaza

Pacific Plaza is a high end luxury Mall. Its is situated right next to Grand Indonesia Mall in Menteng area. You will find many international branded shops like Makeup Forever, Nars, Aldo, Marks and Spencers, Lacoste, Massimo Dutti etc. Also few designer brands like Marc Jacobs, Kate Spade along with luxury brands like Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Chanel, Fendi , Gucci, Louis Vuitton grace this mall. Nice interiors and ambiance make it a great experience for shopping in central Jakarta

Sarinah Mall

Sarinah Mall carries the slogan of ” Window of Indonesia” is a space for local creative products. Its is also known as “Batik and Handicraft Mall”. This department store specializes in wooden handicrafts and local decorative items. Varied options in fashion and batik clothing, home decor, idols along with nice variety of local baskets and jewelry. If you are into a creative space, or want to gift something for your friends and family or just need to have a look around for local merchandise you can spend some time here.

Opening Hours: Mostly from 8 am to 8 pm

Plaza Blok M

Plaza Blok M, though not a very huge mall it is a nice small place with the famous Matahari Department store. Some brands which have small stores here are Guardian, Isla fashion, Logo Jeans,Les femmes, Magnolia, Pavillion shoes, MR. DIY etc. Some famous eateries help to have a quick bite on the go. Nearby is the local market of Blok M Square. If you have some extra time or are in this area then you can visit it to spend some time here.
