Documents Required For Visa On Arrival Thailand

  • Valid Passport:
    Ensure that your passport has at least six months of validity from the date of arrival. Additionally, your passport should have at least one blank visa page for the stamp.
  • Return/Onward Ticket:
    You will be required to present proof of onward travel within 15 days from your arrival date. This can be in the form of a return ticket or a ticket to your next destination.
  • Proof Of Accommodation:
    A confirmation from Hotel in which you will be staying for your entire stay will be required for Visa on Arrival in Thailand. This information may be requested at the point of entry, so it is advisable to have it readily available.
  • Proof Of Sufficient Funds:
    You might need to show that you have enough funds to cover your expenses during your stay in Thailand. It could be bank statements for the last 6 months, traveler’s cheques, credit cards, etc. Usually required funds are 10,000 THB per person/ 20,000 THB per family
  • Visa Fees: The Visa On Arrival Thailand Fee currently is 2200 THB per person which is revised and changed from time to time. Please carry this amount to avoid delays and inconvenience 
  • Fully Filled Form:

  • Recent Passport Sized Photograph: Applicants 2 photographs of the size 4 x 6 cm are required with a clear image of your face against a white background.
  • Travel Insurance: 
    Travel insurance is a must when traveling to Thailand. Officials might ask for valid health insurance of USD  10,000 which covers Covid19 medical expenses when in Thailand.

Step 1: Arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport

Upon arrival at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, locate the designated Visa on Arrival counters by following the signs. These counters are  clearly marked and easily accessible.

Approach the Visa on Arrival counter and request an application form. Fill out the form accurately and with the correct details. To save time, you can print out the form at home and fill it out before landing. 

Step 3: Check All Documents 

Prepare the necessary supporting documents (mentioned above) to submit along with your application form. Head towards the counter for a document check. They will check your documents and may ask you about your travel plans, accommodation etc.

Head to the main Visa On Arrival Counter where you will give them the fees, and your passports. On waiting for few minutes you will receive your Visa along with payment receipt
